Skulltrail - When will it be released?

But BoneTrail won't have SLi support :(

And it's not Penryn that will be out in November, it's only the top-end Yorkfield.
The rest of us will have to wait till Janurary 2008.
 
Skull trail boards are socket 771 uses the desktop chip in the server socket for extreme enthusiast so that people don't get confused on what chips to use....according to an article

I think you are confusing it with the Xeon board. I have not run across any article(s) saying Skulltrail is 771. Link please?

No, I'm pretty sure that's a mistake.
They specifically said that at the hearing that it were two LGA775 chips, and then wrote that even though it's socket LGA775, current chips like the Q6600 and QX6700 cannot be installed in a dual-CPU mesh.

Does this cause a hit in performance/stability?
 
I doubt it will provided the drivers are good. I haven't had any problems with the nVidia switch chip and my 5000x board in my Precision except for getting Vista drivers.

Still think it's going to be better just to use a Seaburg board with 5355s or Penryns when they're released. This seems to lock you into using special processors, just like AMDs current 4x4, unless of course Xeons work in these sockets too.
