SiS 761GX Compatibility Q: AM2+ Processor?

I've been out of the AMD loop for awhile, looking for some quick help.

As the topic states, I am curious to know whether my 761GX NB Mobo from PC Chips (specifically A33G) will work with a socket AM2+ Processor, such as here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103300

I've read that AM2 and AM2+ are fully compatible, but I can't find anything specifically regarding this SiS chipset. Any help pls?
 
you would most likely need to look at the bios updates and find the cpu support list for the board to find out if it would support am2+ not every am2 board supported am2+ but im not sure off the top of my head which ones did or didnt support it..

i dont see anything about am2+ support.. so id probably say no that it doesnt support it.. also pc-chips is pretty much low end oem boards.. i have an older pc-chips socket A board as well.. not the greatest board but the thing wont die.. so im happy with it..
 
thanks - yeah i had initially checked their website and didn't see anything. looking into the am2 and am2+ architecture, i had read that they are fully compatible vice versa, just if you use an am2+ processor on an am2 motherboard, you will of course be limited to am2 specifications as far as hypertransport, etc... which isn't a problem for me. oh well, i will try it and see what happens.

yeah.. the bios though has to support the cpu otherwise it shows up as unknown and the board has no clue what to do with the processor..
