Simple Temperature Question

I did a search already and I did find the information I wanted, but, all the same, I just wanted to make sure.

Just built the rig in my sig.

My CPU Idle temperature according to the BIOS is at 50C. That seems excessively high.

Using a Zalman 9500 AM2. The case itself is using 2 exhaust fans and 1 fan pulling air in.

Granted, this computer has been on for 1 day, so the Thermal Paste has not gone through its settling period. Even so, 50C on first boot? That doesn't seem right. Most of what I read through the forums say that 30 should be idle with 40-50 at load. From my research (prior to buying the heatsink) said that the zalman should have my CPU idling at around 25-30 and 35-45 at load.

Comments concerns? Should I go ahead and clean the heatsink, reapply the thermal paste (Arctic Silver 5), and resink it?
 
first make sure that its actually at 50C by getting coretemp or speedfan.
If its still at 50C, it could be many things, and you should think of everything that could be wrong before resinking. and whats your room temp?
 
ya do wyt the above poster sayd, dl speedfan and tell us your temps. 50 is too high. wyt fan speed r u at?

According to SpeedFan my Core is running at 43-45C.

Currently my house is around 77F, so this room is probably around 78-80F.

To address the other posters question:

CPU Fan is on High, while the case fans are on Low to reduce Noise. If its worth mentioning, case is an Antec P180B
 
45 seems decent, but a *bit* high for using a zalman 9500, and if you apply AS5, itll reduce your temp a few degrees, but a few degrees is way worth it imo
