I wonder if they're going to hold it back for the movie release next year for the extra hype. The trailer looks like it's pretty far along in development. The movie starts filming in February, so they may be aiming for a Halloween season release.I'm hearing rumors it could come as early as May and as late as December 2023. Hopefully it's up there with the likes of RE2R. I'm excited to see the new crop of UE5 games. The production quality of this looks fantastic.
The first game definitely deserves a remake and a PC release.Part of me wishes they'd remake 1-3 and sell the bundle, but I will absolutely take this!!
Silent Hill was always third-person. Silent Hill 4 switched between first- and third-person.Is there a first person option?
Looks exactly like the original PS2 game to me, just from a third-person OTS perspective.Looks like the last two RE's to me.
The graphics look like their straight out of RE 7 & 8.Looks exactly like the original PS2 game to me, just from a third-person OTS perspective.
The graphics look liketheirthey're straight out of RE 7 & 8.
The OTS combat looks a lot like RE 5 and 6 to be honest, maybe I need to revisit them but that's what I'm feeling from this part of the trailer.

Not a page from Capcom's play book. They're going from a dynamic cinematic camera to OTS. What did you expect it to look like?
I just don't understand how it could be done differently. Not a page from Capcom's play book.
I'm just giving you my unbiased opinion on how it looks to me since I've never played the OG's.
Dead Space Remake is a corridor shooter and doesn't look like RE and it has OTS.I just don't understand how it could be done differently.
Dead Space remake doesn't look any different from the original game from a gameplay perspective. The Callisto Protocol really doesn't, either, when it comes to the shooting mechanics. Melee is more dynamic, of course.Dead Space Remake is a corridor shooter and doesn't look like RE and it has OTS.
Same with The Callisto Protocol and probably a dozen other games.
I like RE so it's not a bad thing per say, I've just been there and done that, and I have the t-shirt to prove it.
You are right, Dead Space remake looks just like the OG which looks nothing like RE. That is the point I was trying to make.Dead Space remake doesn't look any different from the original game from a gameplay perspective. The Callisto Protocol really doesn't, either, when it comes to the shooting mechanics. Melee is more dynamic, of course.
Fact of the matter is that Resident Evil 4 set the standard for pretty much every game with over-the-shoulder shooting mechanics. The only thing that has really changed is moving from a laser with realistic sway to a crosshair with annoying bloom.
04:00 UTC on October 8, so technically the 7th if you're anywhere in the US but the east coast.Comes out Oct. 7th
I think the PC version is using Ray Reconstruction since the footage shown by Konami has no Lumen RT noise issues like the PS5 gameplay trailer does:

So this means Arc/RDNA cards will also have this noisy RT which is typical of UE5's Lumen RT. Only Ray Reconstruction solves that.
Hardware RT in UE5 at last in a AAA game!Yay to ray reconstruction!
