I have netgear wireless router and its working fine but my friend and I cant see eachother's computer when I go to "view workgroup computers" even though we are both joined to the same workgroup name.

I feel stupid for asking and I know it's probably something easy that I should have figured out already.

I dont remember seeing that option on the router but I can be blind sometimes. If it's there I didnt check it heh.

Enable Simple file and printer sharing.

Can you ping the other computer?

Start -> Run -> \\computernamegoeshere

Start -> Run -> \\computerIPgoeshere

I'm fairly certain he's referring to Windows file sharing. I forget exactly where that setting lives, but it's in the OS, not the router.

Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Right Click your active ethernet card > properties > make sure there's a tick at File and Printer Sharing.

You also might want to tick 'Client for Microsoft Networks'
