About 4 months ago I bought an Athlon 64 3200+ (754) and an Abit KV8-Max3 motherboard. Its ran very solid and stable up untill about 3 weeks ago when it just died. I went to go turn on my computer in the morning and it powered up but with a blank screen. I found out something went bad with the AGP slot in that somehow it got fried. Well when I figured that out I bought a new motherboard on newegg. This time a GigaByte K8 Triton K8NS Pro with the Nforce 3 250GB chipset. Upon installing I formatted and reloaded Windows XP Pro. At first it was speedy, then i installed the drivers for everything, then the windows updates. Then all my apps an games. By this time I knew there was something wrong becasue i was getting 10 minute boot times, Firefox took 3 minutes to load and windows logon took like 5 minuted just to log me in to my computer. Even the right click menu took about 40 seconds to appear. So I ran bootvis, cleared my Prefetch and did all the maintance and tweeks I could yet it was still very slow. So I figured that something might have gone wrong with the XP installation. I formatted and reinstalled again but still with the same results. I have no clue what could possibly be the problem. Please help me.
