SC2 CMOS date/time error - weird

So, I was having an error on SC2 that I thought was on Blizzard's end but it turns out it was not. I recently upgraded my system and my bios and ever since I did, none of my sc2 replays were saving, my bonus pool was constantly 0 even though I was getting bonus points for wins, and it reported my friends signed off only a minute before.

The problem... my cmos time was off, it was set for 2003. Now I can't fully understand why my CMOS date/time would cause all three of these errors to take place.

Here's what I'm thinking - Blizzard uses the CMOS date/time to determine the date/time of the replay, and since it was not consistent with my computers CMOS it just wouldn't save the replay?
The friends list was looking at my CMOS time and getting an error.
The bonus pool is based on CMOS time as well? I guess it looks to that for the last time you were online.

Should I be surprised that Blizzard probably uses their own server time in some kind of conjunction with the CMOS time? I'm not extremely technical with programming, so this caught me off guard.

You'd be surprised how much has to deal with the clock. Some exploits may even use the clock to their advantage. They may disable components to prevent this from happening.

Bonus pool displays use your system clock. If your system time is in 2003... you'll be at 0 bonus pool for 7 years (at least it'll show 0 ... but clearly their servers keep track of it themselves).

If you manually change the windows date, it'll actually not even launch SC2.
