I'm looking for a rugged keyboard that can withstand a gazzilion keystrokes perday by anything from greasy fingers to double-chinned ones. Also, I would prefer not to have multimedia/easy access buttons... Any suggestions? The best I've found so far is a Keytronic model at newegg.
 
I know they have "indestructible" keyboards on sale online and at a few retailers. They are the spillproof kind, with that plastic coating, and some of them are also foldable.

That what your looking for? You can prob find them at compusa.com, frozencpu.com, newegg, etc.
 
I've tried the "indestructable" keyboard and it was fun to play with. When it comes to tactile function and use it seriously lacks. The keys definitely feel mushy and sometimes they will just flop to one side instead of going straight down during a keystroke. Not something I would want to type on for any extended length of time.
 
You uh...writing a dissertation or typin' out in the middle of a swamp or somethin'?
 
buy the most rugged panasonic though book notebook: you can put it in water, jump on it, roll on it with a car or use it as a crazy carpet for snow sliding and they're still fine. Sure it's a little expensive compared to a keybord but they should resist to your crazy use.
 
Keytronic is good. Also look into older IBM keyboards locally, particularly the Model M.
