Hey guys,
I recently bought an Acer AL1716 LCD monitor, with a 500:1 contrast ratio, 1280x1024 @ 75Hz native res, and a response time of 12ms...

i wanted to know how important response time is, and what is the highest comfortable response time for FPS gaming......

in short, whats the ideal response times for

1) Surfing the net/work etc
2) Movies
3) Gaming

btw I haven't experienced the "ghosting" that seems to be the problem with LCDs

thanks

There is no "ideal" response time. Obviously the lower the better. Seeing as most of the time manufacturers use strange methods to measure the response time, or just flat out lie about it, the actual numbers don't mean much. If you don't see ghosting that bothers you, that's all that matters I'd say.
