I'm going to be replacing my Leadtek motherboard (nforce2, AMD) soon and I honestly dont know what brand to go for. So far I've been looking at Asus, A-bit, and gigabyte.

I'll be mostly gaming on the system and I need something thats not only reliable but also uses the nforce2 chipset as well.

onboard sound and lan are also a must, and I plan to replace the sound in the future with a SB

current specs :

amd xp 2000+
Western digital 80 gb SE
kingston 512 mb ddr (PC2700)
dvd drive
floppy drive
usb mouse/keyboard
geforce 4 ti 4400

suggestions welcome

I swear by Asus motherboards. I have had like 5 of them in a row now for every generation of system that I have built. Plus I have used them to build a number of systems. So right now I am probably 13 or 15 for 13 or 15 for good boards out of the box. I have had a failure rate of ZERO for every machine built thus far. They all run 1-3 years later so far.

I've owned about 4 Abit's and all but one was a total piece of crap. I had one BX6 rev 2 that was awesome. All the other ones sucked hard.

I've actually not had to much experience with Gigabyte. I have heard good and pad. Mostly the good was about Intel chipset based boards. So I couldn't say there.

the albatron nforce 2 is also a damn good deal, and overclocks real well.
