Intel received today its 3rd consecutive Green Power Leadership Award from the U.S. EPA. Currently No. 1 on the EPA’s National Top 50 list, Intel was recognized for its annual purchase of more than 1.4 billion kWh of green power - which corresponds to removing nearly 200,000 passenger cars from the streets for 1 year - and helping to spur renewable energy market growth.
 
Good for Intel. But, I would like to know what is considered green energy for these stats.
 
How much energy does it take to make one of these devices that collects "green energy"?
 
Green energy and carbon credits are such a scam. Buying these green energy credits means removing 200,000 cars off the street? I don't think the actual amount of cars on the street has ever decreased. And equating green energy credits to getting cars off the street is plain bs. It's a shell game and ultimately someone is getting paid.

The better answer is to actually reduce greenhouse emissions, reduce waste, find alternative sources of energy, get rid of polluting cars, etc. There are so many ways to actually being green, that purchasing carbon credits and all the other nonsense is directly against being green.
