Removing branding/labeling?

Hi all,

Just curious if anyone had a tip for removing branding from a case. Case in question would be a Silverstone Temjin 03.

In the middle of the front? Can you tell me whether it's engraved/etched/printed/painted on?

It looks like vinyl? Not a sticker, not etched, definitely raised above surface. Dont' think it's paint either.

yup i seconded using sugar..its proven to work to eliminate the t-mobile logos from most cells..

That's the idea--it gives you something to hold onto and makes it easier to apply pressure.

You guys, sugar is a coarse material, just because it worked on plastic doesn't mean it works on all plastics, metals, etc.



If you have a picture of the labeling, I'll tell you how to remove it

yes, pictures of the label would be much appreciated and would help us figure out how to tell you to go about removing it a little better.

My best experience has either been with sugar or if its more like a sticker than goo-gone (make sure it only is on the top of the sticker) and a straight razor works well for me. You put the goo-gone onto the surface of the sticker, wait about 5-10 minutes and then wipe it off and begin to work at it by scraping carefully at the edges with the razor blade. The goo-gone eats away at the adhesive on the other side of the sticker making it easier to peel off.

I have also heard that for some paper decals windex works well...but i havent tried it personally. However, i hear you spray windex on the sticker and then rub it with either your finger or a cloth is preferable and it just basically destroys the sticker, removing it in the process.

Well that picture isn't exactly close but my guess is either printed on (in which case it can be removed with lacquer thinner) or it is laser marked on. When you laser mark on metal, you typically spray this special stuff on the piece which turns the metal a different color when the laser hits it. I've had black stuff done, I'm sure white is possible as well. Not sure how that would come off except to sand it which probably isn't a great idea for your finish.
