Recording formats

I've just acquired a PVR250 and I'm trying out the different capture formats. What do you guys record in? MPEG1 VCD? 2MB/S MPEG2? SVCD? I'm looking to record and archive to CDR.

Trying to get a good balance between quality and file size since I don't have the largest HDD in the world.

Cheers

Unless you _need_ (old) VCD compliance, I second MPEG2 or SVCD (which is also MPEG2). If you adhere to the SVCD format, you should be able to archive your collections onto CDs that will play in a standalone DVD player (check compatibility though).

I always use standard DVD MPEG2 when I capture.

It just makes it easier for me to author compilations and stuff.
