I'm getting a DFI motherboard and I want to know wether to throw down on a flashy sound card or to just stick with onboard audio. I will deffinatly be using this for gaming and movies, and hoking it up to a decent sound system, but nothing more then media really, I won't need any audio input features all I want is decent surround for music.movies.games. Is there a huge jump in quality with the audigy or should I be ok?

I would get a sound card using onboard you won't get as nice a sound quality plus more settings for movies like dts. Most onboard audio probably have DolbyD.

just installed a xfi xtreme music into my rig. OMFG such a massive improvement over my alc850 integrated. soo worth every single penny. music clarity is just amazing. playing games with the xfi adds soo much more depth to the game over the alc850. its just AMAZING. make sure you get the new drivers from creative.com though, dont use the ones on the cd. paid $129 from compusa for it. i went to compusa to pick up some random crap and ofcourse walk out spending way too much lol, but it was worth it.
