Random problem after move.

After a while the text on the my computer gets garbled and the icons on my desktop go fuzzy. I then get an error message, which I can't read because the text is blank and if I hit the button which I assume should be "ok" my system hangs. My guess is a vid card problem due to improperly seated 6800 GT when I first tried to turn on my system after the move. Anything I can do or do I have a very expensive paperweight?
