Looking to purchase an Evercase 4252 and have a few ?'s

1.)I have noticed on newegg there is 3 different 4252 which one should I get? I have an AMD 2400+ XP chip

2.)Looking for quietest/best performance 120 mm fan. Does not have to be the quietest as I like my PC to be cool, but don't want it to be super loud.

3.)Can the front intake hold a 120 mm stock or must it the case be modded?

4.)Any other recommendations/advice to go along with this case?

5.) Does this case come with any fans?

I am moving from a modded case that has six 80 mm fans just in the case. Not including Processor, video card, and Power supply. Is antec 3000b or sonata that much better than this case? I really would like to save the money as I already have a PS

Go with the Sonata. Fit and Finish are spectacular, the price is right. Cooling is decent, and the damn thing is QUIET.

The Antec sonata willhold a 120mm stock.

The Sonata comes with 1 120mm fan in the rear.

Go with the Sonata. I mightbe biased (I have one, and I love its adorable little quietness), and would heartily recommend it to anyone. Even my mom. :)

Case size: Stick with a mid tower or bigger (full size/server). Anything smaller than a mid tower is gonna have heat problems, especially when cooling with air. Such cases are just a pocket of heat, this is not good.
Make sure as you have somewhat previously stated and I'm just confirnming. The case has it least a 120mm front intake and rear exhaus, or, two 80mm front intakes and rear exhausts.

Name brand: This is a preference matter. Obviously, features and cosmetics will vary from brand to brand even so don't get hung up on the brand mentallity. Some brands are very pricey with offering very little in overal quality and cooling potentials. In other words, the price on some of these cases is just ridiculous.

Growth/expandability: Unless, you plan to change or have a new case everytime you turn around, find one that provides plenty of room for growth. This goes back to what I mentioned earlier in regards to mid size and full size towers/cases. These particular cases naturally provide this.

The Antec SLK3000B has no PSU, so you can use the one you have. Plus it already comes with one 120mm rear fan. I don't think the black Evercases without PSU at Newegg come with fans. Well the photos don't show any that is.

You can get the SLK3000B at Provantage for roughly the same price as an Evercase shipped from Newegg.

And definitely do check out silentpcreview.com as haelduksf recommended. It's the best source on the internet for quieting PC's.

I have a 4252 and am very happy with it

1) they are all basically the same. The main differences are the front ports (USB etc) and also the holes on the door for fans and also some come with PSU. I would get your own PSU, I believe its not worth it to get a cheap one. You can also order a different front port set up directly from evercase, just send a email to usa_sales@evercase.com and request the accessory price list from them. I ordered another hd cage from them since I have 3.

So basically just get whatever case you want, if you want differerent front ports or another hd cage then just order one from evercase.

2) I just have one rear 120 in my case, there is a spot for a front fan in the case but with the way the airflow is designed it really isnt needed. The rear 120 gets all of its air from the front anyway so your hd's will stay plenty cool. The fan I use is a Globe 120 running at 5V . Alot of people with 4252's on silentpcreview.com use either Nexus or YateLoon low speed fans and they have great luck with them.

3.) I can say a 120 will FIT in the front but you may have to drill holes for it, I think my holes are for a 92 fan. Like I said above though, a front fan really isnt needed. I would build the case and if you find out you need one then put one in, but I would definitely try it without first.

4.) A) This is a very good case considering how cheap it is, has excelent airflow. Much better than the stock sonota (I has a Sonota before I got this). The Sonota was good but it had to be modified alot for good airflow.

B) I covered the side vent holes in the door with tape so the all the air has to come from the front and go over my hd's, it keeps my 3 samsungs very cool. I also use a Seasonic ST400 PSU with a slow moving 120 fan which also helps.

5.) Mine didint come with fans. I had a Panaflo L1A that was very quiet in my previous case. With any fan I recommend a fan controler to drop down the voltage though, at 12V they are just to loud.

I am not knocking Antec ( I actually like them) but the Sonata is a bit overrated in the quiet department, If you dont modify the front air intakes then you will have crappy airflow. For the cost of the case you should not have this problem.

I hope this helps
