For about the same price, which would you go?

Socket 939 3500+ .13 micron Newcastle
Socket 939 3200+ .09 micron Venice

i would expect 2001mhz ;)

though as a more realistic prediction, 2.6-2.8ghz. any more and you're lucky
 
nah, cause more boards automatically oc that much. and the cpu's rated speed is tested at the max case temp denoted on the die, i think 71ºc for revE chips. just by pure nature of the cpu, the cooler temps in a normal case allow for some oc'ing, normally ~50-100mhz as an absolute minimum :p
