I just purchased an ODS (Optical Data Systems, Inc.) 1106-22BT-2FL hub today.

It's a very interesting piece of hardware; about 2U in size, 2 10Base Fiber Ports, 22 10Base Ethernet. I know it's a piece of crap with today's standards, but it was $5 so I said what the hell. The main reason I bought it was because it is a managed hub, RS232 Terminal port and all. I'm going to use it as a piece to play around on, and get a grasp on managed networking hardware.

Problem is this, I need to find out a way to obtain the login/pass of this thing.
I'm able to access the console with a com port analyzer, but aren't there other ways? I thought telnet was the other option. The main objection is to obtain the user/pass though so I can crack around with this thing.

Anyone ever work with ODS hardware, let alone heard of it?

Quick googling gave me this and at the very bottom of that page is a more in depth google query.

And this which lists ods/ods as the defaults for another piece.
 
I've tried all the googling. As a matter of fact, I checked that first source you listed earlier, but I never scrolled down to see all the replies.

Anyhoot, I've the ods/ods as the login/pass to no avail.

I wish I hadn't already stuck this thing in my rack; probably need to take a look inside, see if there is anyway to restore to default.
