Hello all,

I just picked up some akg 702's. I'm using the tascam us 800 interface. I do hear distortion at higher volumes.

Would it be simple to make the Fiio e7/e9 combo work with my interface? To properly power my headphones ? I just want to make sure that I can utilize the e7/e9 combo with my interface before I make the investment.

Thanks any advice is appreciated.

It would be pointless to use an e7 with your setup since there's no way to get a digital out from your interface besides coax s/pdif. The reason to use an e7/e9 combo is to use the dac in the e7 and the amp from the e9. I'd just use the rca out from the interface to an amp with an adapter to 1/8" or 1/4" if the amp doesn't have rca inputs. If the distortion is caused by the interfaces dac, then I'd get a dac that accepts coax s/pdif and run the line out to the amp of your choice.
