Hi
I'm interested in seeing if I can boot a linux disto via pxe off of the network. It is basically a proof of concept about running thin clients.

So, I've been looking at various distro's and settled on FDLinux (http://www.fdlinux.com/) as it seems like a sold networkable OS.

I've used Ext2IFS_1_10c.exe to read the fd.img file (as it is in ext2 format that windows can read nativly) and created a PXE .sys file that I can get too via PXE booting off of the network.

So, I boot up and select it from the menu

I get:
LI
.L

from the boot menu and that is it :-(

I'm so close!!

Any one got an idea on how to configure LiLo to work after booting off of a PXE network connection? Or, does anyone have another distro they would recommend. The current backend of this is a win2k3 server runnign 3com boot services.

Thanks!

Damnsmalllinux.org, go to the forums, search for pxe. There's a great tutorial on booting dsl over pxe.
