I am fixing to go get a new Gateway FPD2485W, to replace my FPD2185W, yeah I know, I already have the 21, why get a 24? Because the extra 1.5" on EACH corner is an amazing difference. My buddy ust got a new one last night and let me tell you, that thing is beautiful.

I am not getting any other brand because I like my current display and I need the component inputs (HD cable box), DVI (main rig), and VGA (secondary rig)....not to mention the USB hub and the niftly lighted touch buttons...

And no, I made a new thread because the other thread was so long and it kinda got hijacked.....:D

Im looking to pull the trigger on this display too.

You should try to get one made in December (blue and yellow stickered box). It seems that the ones made before xmas in November had quality control problems (green and orange stickered boxes).

Also eztune 1.4 is supposed to be much better for callibration and color.

Damn tools at best buy....I call, they have it in stock...I get there 10 mins after opening, and they "can't find it", so I ask to buy the display model....they "can't sell a display model"...I ask why...manager say "only if the display model is part of a closeout". I say, "so I called and you told me you had it, I get here and you don't, and you won't sell the display model?"

sales tool: "nope, but we have an olympia high definition tv that works as a monitor..."

me: "Uhhh, no, I want the gateway 24" LCD at 1920x1200, not a low res 1366x768 crap lcd....well....looks like I will take my $679 worth of business elsewhere"

Tools....I hate brick and mortar idiots that don't have a clue.

Great monitor, I love mine. I also had a Gateway 21 and this thing dwarfs it! Damn idiots.

I got a December model from CircuitCity.com last week that is gorgeous. They had run out of stock for a couple of days before I ordered, so it's a good bet that their warehouses don't have any November models. While their price isn't as cheap as it was when I ordered, it still is cheaper than most retail places.

I was thinking I am just going to drive to Houston tuesday after work and pick one up at Circuit City.....

I don't know if you'll have the same luck in getting a Dec. model in stores as I would think you'd have online. Plus I think it's cheaper online. Mine shipped from Irving or Tyler or something, so I got it the next day with regular shipping.

Does Houston have them in stock? I looked at all of the CCs in San Antonio and Austin and none carried them.

Well, I bought mine night 1 after business hours, it shipped day 2, I arrived it on day 3. I used the $5 shipping option (3 day I believe), but at the time CC.com was offering free shipping. I should add that I'm in San Antonio and it shipped from Texas.
