PS3 vs Computer

He posted the bullshit just to show how absurd it was. It's not realy that difficult to figure out, I understood his intentions as soon as I glanced at his post.

I can't believe I'm still having to explain this to people...

Let's see, I can find the bold button...the italics button...underline...where's the sarcasm button?

Oh, right. It doesn't transfer over text. When I'm being sarcastic, I put a smiley there and make it REALLY FUCKING OBVIOUS. He didn't. When so many people think he was posting something serious, who has failed, hm?

If someone tries to draw a tree, and no one sees it as a tree, who has failed, the viewer, or the artist?

Wow I can't believe this thread is still going...and STILL delivering. Some of the people in this thread need windmills installed on their hats...the sheer volume of comprehension rushing over their head could power whole city blocks.

I think the analogy is closer to you're standing at the gallery and all your friends are murmering, "That's a fantastic tree" and you're screaming, "WTF this artist sucks at drawing rocket ships!"

No, my analogy is exactly what it should be. Again, if so many people failed to understand it, who failed? The writer, or the reader. If it were a small number of readers, OK...but as the number of readers grows, it means the writer failed.

Since he stated clearly at the start of his post that he was posting quotes from another forum, I'd say the reader failed. He also pointed out several times that it wasn't even close to being his opinion.

I thought the first sentence in his post made it obvious:

"I will post some quotes from the PS3 section of the BF3 forums.."

Some people refuse to acknowledge when they have done something retarded, even as the drool is splashing on their sneakers and their lower lips starts to droop.

But yea, this thread shoulda ended right after someone posted that flow chart.

OK, I give up after this post, I won't even bother reading.

Yes, he said it was a quote. And that does not establish his intent. It doesn't make it clear if he's presenting that as a argument, or as sarcasm. When people text me, and say something that could either be funny or serious...If smiley is present, sarcasm...no smiley, depending on the context, I assume it's serious or I question them.

Written language is harder to convey sarcasm - tone and inflections in one's voice. As such, you compensate by adding things not normally present when you speak face to face with people. Smiley faces are a great way, especially since outlook makes adding them simple.

Maybe you should have glanced at my signature. A correct analogy would be if we were on an auto-enthusiast forum and a gentleman drove a Dodge Viper. Then he provided a similar quote in a thread asking if a Honda Civic is faster than said car from a Honda racing forum stating it is faster because "the engine is better". You are blowing this whole thing out of proportion, no idea why you are getting so angry about this.

Either way, what you posted needs to be rebutted, lest someone follow it and use it as a basis for a decision.

As for this, if someone took this seriously I would question their reasons for being on this forum.

So...is the Civic better than the Viper?!?! I heard if you rip out your catalytic convertor and air filter you get like 100HP more, which should easily beat a Viper, right?

look all of you tools that could not figure out that the guy who wrote post #4 was posting someone else's comments, really need to back to the kindergarten and start from there.....
