What I really need to know is, what are great Wii games to keep people occupied at parties?

I'm remodelling the basement and when it's done I'll be hosting a lot of (poker) parties. I need some games that are good for people to play after they bust out of the game (or that aren't playing--mostly the gals don't play poker.)

Wiki's got a 288 game list but nothing jumped out and grabbed me. Bowling is probably in, maybe tennis, maybe TW golf and definitely Zelda--but Zelda's for my own use only.

I'm mostly looking for crowd pleasers but rec's for awesome RPGs are welcome too.

And no, I don't care which is better between the PS3 and 360. I'm a PC gamer. ;)

Mario Party... Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz ... Rayman Raving Rabbids.

btw the thread subject is flame bait. you should be ashamed of yourself! :p

I'll take a shot, Rayman (WII) seems to be popular when playing in a group. Don't let the cartoonish graphics fool you

Heh. Sorry, I almost never come to the console area. I saw a thread on untapped PS3 power and got curious to see how it was maturing. Then I read 2 pages worth of posts... :D

Thanks for the recs!

Super Paper Mario is also a decently fun single player game.

Mario Party 8 is okay...

DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is a REALLY fun fighting game IMO :D

I disagree on the title... but meh...

I actually think Wii Sports is probably the best Wii game out there...and it's free.
Beyond that, some people like Big Brain Academy and Wario Ware.
For a change of pace, Resident Evil's a fun distraction. Much like Paper Mario, nobody's really going to get anywhere casually, but it's fun to simply play segments of the game with others.

Wii sports, despite being free in America actually seems to be quite popular. It's not bundled in Japan and has spent time in the top 10 since they still want it.

Wii Play is nice, but only 2-player. It's just 10 bucks more after the price of the controller though so it's your call.

Super Monkey Ball has a lot of party games, but they went for a shotgun effect. Some of them are good, some of them feel like they're just plain broken.

I can't comment on games I haven't played so that's all I can't say how they stack up against Mario Party or Rayman. Of these 3, Wii Sports seems to take up all the time, we never really even get to trying the other 2 since everybody's so hooked on bowling or boxing.

I disagree with your title.. 100%.

On topic ..

Wii
1. Wii Sports
2. Mario Party

360
1. Guitar Hero 2
2. Guitar Hero 3
3. Rock Band
4. Viva Pinata : Party Animals

I wouldn't know. I've never seen a PS3 or Xbox game. It's more a gentle pun on this subforum after reading a few pages worth of posts. If I *had* to game on consoles I'd get ALL of them.

I would suggest Rayman, Super Paper Mario and Zelda.

All GREAT titles.

Haven't picked up Mario Party yet but i've heard good things.

Anxiously awaiting Metroid and GH as well.

Lots of good titles on the way. :)
