Very interesting engineering samples, it looks like the second card is for testing laptop MXM boards.

I have several of those types of engineering boards, they are not that exciting.



I definitely appreciate this insight and context as i was definitely questioning and considering the MXM-based boards to be a lesser consequence and meaning.

though i really do like the Socketed GPU board, but wouldn't be willing to pay a crazy amount for it

Wish I had one of those, I had a customer with a misbehaving MXM GPU awhile back and having to disassemble and reassemble the laptop every time I wanted to do something was maddening.

Ended up having to reflow the GPU with tons of flux and my hot air rework station. Haven't heard any complaints of it acting up again since.
