ok i don't really get how to use memtest86... is there a diff way where i can do it on desktop? i have everest and it says my ram is fine... and i used 3dmark05 and it seemed like there was nothing wrong? so is my ram fine? or should i use another program?

Put memtest86 on a bootable CD or floppy. You can get a bootable CD iso from the memtest website. That is what I did, since I will never get another floppy drive again.

If you want to have memtest, as well as a host of other great testing/recover software, you should take a look at the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows (which includes memtest). I've been using it at work, and it has tons of tools that are incredibly hand...

how does it work? is there a guide? so i just stick the floppy in and restart my comp? then i just wait?

It works by scanning and testing the memory banks on your ram sticks. You need to tell your computer to boot to the floppy drive in the bios and the program will automatically launch with the floppy in the drive.
