So I got satellite tv, and my tv is so old that it does not have any outputs, just a power cord and a place for the cable. The way I use to have my tv is just run a splitter, one to tv one to computer tuner. Now I got it all working, except for the fact when I turn to channel 60 on my tv tuner, the picture is black/white and distorted. I can see what it is, but something is definetly wrong. I do not know what to do, because I did not get a satellite pvr box in my room, that is upstairs.

Basicly the setup is, cable from wall, splitter, one to computer, one to tv. TV is fine (except for a little fuzz (but that is because of the setup he told me), but the tv tuner picture is just bad... Anyone know if I can change it? The options I see is either get a new tv (Do not really want to, $$) and just do a s-video or composite out, or forget about my pc and just watch tv on my tv, which I do not really want to do... Anyone?

Update

If I get a rf modulator, like this one

If I take the second cable from the splitter, make the coax into this thing, run the rca cables into my video card, make it composite/svideo.. Should it be normal quality?

no. that doesn't help the quality at all, just converts the cable.

you are putting the splitter after the satellite tuenr box right? so the cable goes satellite>wall>sat. tuner>splitter>tv and PC

No

Basicly how I understand it, it goes

Satellite --- Satellite box(Upstairs) -- then goes downstairs through the wall - Wall- splitter - tv and pc

Basicly my room is the remote room, not the main room for the satellite.

___ EDIT

Could it be a faulty cable? THe old cable was black and white and hard to see, I tried another cable and it was better, but still had some issues...

easily could be the cable. Be sure you are using rg6. rg6 has a thicker core and carries a slightly better signal. can be found cheap at home depot. RCA brand
