Problem with Ipod shuffle.

I recently got a 1Gig ipod shuffle but I cant get it to detect on my pc. The weird thing is it detects fine on my friends pc and also shows up on my ibook. I've got some music on there but its a pain.

I think the Usb 2.0 ports (onboard) are fine because im running my mouse and stuff on it without any trouble at all.

Does anyone know what the trouble could be?





btw I'm running Xp Pro SP1, I've reinstalled windows and it didnt make any difference.
 
Try installing SP2? The specs say that it is required for running on Windows XP. Even though I could not see it making a difference, I think it would be worth a try. Did your friend's comp have it installed?

 
Yeh my friend has Sp2. I'll look into installing that and seeing if that works. I'll try some other usb stuff and see if that works first.
