Okay, just want to run this by some of you guys and see what you think the problem may be.
Current WHS setup
MB - Intel DG45ID
Mem - 2GB Wintec
Video - Onboard
CPU - Celeron E3300 (2.5GHz)
Nic - Onboard
Cage - Icydock 4 Bay
Drives - 3 Hitachi 2TB, 1 WD 500GB and 1 Hitachi 1TB (In the cage and not in use right now)
Optical - Asus Bluray drive
Power - OCZ 500W
I'm trying to get the cage online but ran out of SATA ports so the card was purchased. Since I don't have a PCIe x4 slot I have the Adaptec card installed in the PCIe x16 slot with one SATA drive installed in the cage. When powering the PC on everything comes up as normal but I have no video. No beep codes or anything to tell me something is wrong but you can tell that the pc is booting up to the OS. Now when I have nothing plugged into the SATA ports on the Adaptec card I get the same results, boots up but no video. Card removed, boot up is normal video is back.
What I'm wondering is.....with the addition of the cage and the power it requires along with the one 1-TB drive in the cage and the Adaptec card do you think that I'm drawing too much power for the power supply and it's shutting down the video or could I be wrong and it's something totally different.
Thanks for any input.
