Problem Re-Installing OS X

I was having some troubles so I did an archive and install..

The 1st disc installed with no troubles

Disc 2 froze randomly and said Try reinstalling again

I called apple and they sent me a new disk and it is having the same troubles except most of the time it freezes with 2 minutes left to install iWeb application...

I read that the RAM could be the problem so i swapped out my ram for the ram that came with the laptop

anyone have any suggestions... it kind of sucks not having a laptop

also - this is out of warranty

Just for jollies, tell it not to install iLife next time. See if it gets past that step. If it installs properly, you can just add on iLife later.
