I am working on a vice president's presentation, and I ran into an issue. I have one of her slides, per her request, that is a bulleted list of 5 points. Each points slides in from the right, as the mouse/pointer is clicked. This way, she can talk about the point, and decide when she is ready to pull the next one in. However, she would like to play a sound clip when one of the bulleted points is shown. Is it possible to add a sound clip in the middle of a multi-part animation?

My only alternative so far is to possible move the bulleted point to the end of the list, and try and figure out how to make the sound clip play after the animation is finished.

I made a slide with a text box with 5 lines of text. made them into 5 bullets. They were all in one text box, so I added a custom animation to that text box.

From the right pane, right click on the animation and choose 'effect options' - there is a Sound drop down menu under 'Enhancements'.

Select the 'Text animation' tab, and under "Group text" choose "by 1st Level paragraphs"..
That makes them come in individually. and at least on my ppt 2003, they each play the sound when they appear

my thought as well for general practice.

thirded.

Animations and sounds may be cool if you're making a 5th grade book report presentation. In college and work however, they're painstakingly annoying and detract attention from the main point of the presentation.

Animations can be effective if used properly, which from the OP it seems like it is being used properly. Also, we don't know what the sound clip is, so we can't really be judgemental.

DeaconFrost- What version of PowerPoint is it? 2007?

Yeah, it is PowerPoint 2007. Normally, I would agree with animations and sound effects. However, my industry is facing some tough times, and our Board of Directors are made up of dairy farmers, who are facing a year coming up like no other.

The presentation is showing some very positive numbers for them, to show how their ROI in my company is still resulting in a very positive gain. One of the slides mentions how, internally, we are cutting costs because we work for them and appreciate their struggles...so it will be a small applause next to some words about doing what's best for the farmers. Brown-nosing? Absolutely, but these people approve our budget each year.
