I am looking for power supply recommendations please

I would like to keep the budget around $55-85 BUT could spend more if it is needed

Specs are as follows

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600x3d
MOBO: Asus ROG Strix B650-A Gaming Wifi
RAM: DDR5 6000 Patriot Viper Venom 2x16GB CL30
GPU: PowerColor Reaper Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB (2 fan)
Storeage: Silicon Power 1TB UD90 NVMe 4.0 Gen4
Cooler: PCCOOLER CPS DC360 Pro ARGB AIO with display
NOTES: 9 ARGB 120mm fans(including the AIO)

No idea about price but I love my Corsair rmx 750. This thing is so quiet it's unbelievable

For your specs a 600 is fine but the price differentials really aren't high

What PSU were you using before? I'm still using all my EVGA SuperNova G2's, Corsair AX's, Seasonic's and even a few Rosewill's from years ago. I've recently used a Thermaltake Toughpower GX2 650W and even a PCCOOLER KN850, and they've been performing pretty solid. Just do your due diligence with expert and user reviews. I pretty much go for 80 Plus Gold or Platinum, and stick to brands that have always been reliable in the past for me, but times and prices change, so have been trying out some of the newer PSU's.

I'm not... this is my first new build since 2018... Currently on a gaming laptop with a 6 core i7 9750h and a gtx 1660 ti 6GB

I'll just post the spreadsheet link from people who claim to know about this stuff. I'm no PSU expert.

I'm kind of a Seasonic whore. Last couple of PSUs I've bought for my main rig were Seasonic Prime TX units. Those are $$$. Also went into a high end build. I have a 750W Superflower Leadex in my portable rig. Overkill for a 9600X + ARC B580, but I wanted a bit of headroom for possible upgrades.

Power supplies are something that can last generations or builds. I have a lot of questions around the rest of the build, but in general.

ATX 3.x only. Neat spreadsheet Zandor. Waaaay too much data for the general consumer, no way to filter and format since its locked and cant be downloaded.

750w plus, ideally ATX gold semi-modular minimum. Those start at around 100$. I normally don't recommend anything lower than that.

Ther are a few bronze I am seeing at microcenter around the 75$ mark, but I don't know whats in them or if they are any good.

Brand is not what matters, what matters is whats inside. I find that typically these lower models skimp on the important bits.

In my experience, this means you run a high risk of finding the power supply spitting out the magic smoke, and then hoping it didnt kill anything else as it died.

If I were you I would pony up and just go for a basic gold 750w, which runs about 100$.

If you can get the Corsair CX 550 on sale on Amazon, I think that's a pretty good deal.

Sounds like you did your research. :) A well reviewed 850W for $90 or so is a good deal.
I also did a little research when I bought the psu,msi mag a650bn,tier c,rtx 4070 super gpu.
If I were buying now, I would definitely go for be quiet. They have the best power supplies.

For that configuration with the rx 9060, 550w is enough, I would go for 550w and be quiet.

I recommend Super Flower Leadex VII XG. They also gave me three fans that I now use in my build and I've used the EVGA G2 (Superflower) for more than a decade that is still running.

Those are good, but there are lots of other good options. Seasonic Prime, Vertex or Focus, Corsair RM-x or HX-i, FSP Hydro platinum, titanium or recent gold, and a bunch of other brands that rebadge someone else's stuff. Actually Corsair is in the rebadge category, I just mentioned them because they're so popular and they sell good stuff someone else made.

I’m currently looking to buy parts for this PC I’m building, and I’ve seen some decent deals on here that I’d love to buy into, but can’t decide between the “risk” of buying a used power supply after the fear mongering of old or damaged capacitors, or the reward of not having to pay full price for the same parts brand new. Any advice?
It's about quality. I just had a brand new PCCOOLER 650W Bronze go bad in just under 15 minutes of use, smoking, sparking, and almost starting a fire. On the other hand, I'm still using Corsair AX1200's from 15 years ago, and EVGA SuperNOVA 1300G2's from 12 years ago. As far as newest PSU goes (aside from the bad PCCOOLER one), the CORSAIR RM750x Shift (White) is working out well, and I like the smaller size for the smaller builds.

True though I'd also add how old? Even the best PSU will eventually go to shit because of the caps going out. I wouldn't have any issue with one that's 3 years old. One that is 12? I don't think I'd want to buy that, too likely to fail in not that much time. It would suck to buy it and have it go out in just a couple years, or not completely go out but not be able to deliver enough power, which also happens as the caps age.

15 years and 12 years. Some are on all the time, some are on only when needed (few hours a day, 2-4 days a week). I've had one of the "higher quality" Rosewill's go bad, and maybe one other popular-ish brand for my old PSU's. I'll have to go check. I still keep the bad PSU's for future DIY projects. Cooling, maintenance/cleaning, and powering more power-efficient components, as well as the quality of the components in the first place are all factors. When I was in the U.S. Navy, I would work on a Radar system that was rated for 15 years. They were supposed to be overhauled with the new version, because that was what we studied to fix and maintain in school. But when I got to my ship, the old system was still there, and nearing the 32-year mark. Some components went bad every few months, some a few years, some never.

Just like my used Toyota Prius-V we bought at the 50K mark. It's now nearing the 200K mile mark. Never had a problem. Always maintained it myself. Some things can keep going and going with proper usage and maintenance. Most of us older folks remember when some products were solidly built, and just lasted decades.

Probably the most usage I had with the PSU's were when I had overclocked 3930K's with an overclocked GTX 1080Ti. System probably pushed around 800W's during full load. Compared to now, I'm at most pushing around 250W to 300W? That probably helps, especially for PSU's rated at 1200W and 1300W's.

I'm not saying they can't last that long, for sure they can, I'm saying I'd be hesitant to buy one that old because I'm worried it has used up a lot of its life. Just with regards to the original question. Like I'd buy a used PSU, but not one that's too old. Something that someone used for a few years and then got a new one because they wanted more power or just a new toy, cool. One that had been used in to the ground and finally replaced? Nah.

Because unlike a car, there's no maintenance to be done. Unless you are a EE with a lot of time on their hands and confidence in your abilities, the PSU is a unit that is replaced en bloc.
