Hey guys, just wondering if anyone know a good site about laptop motherboard repair.
Got an HP dv1040us and it powers up for like 4 seconds then shuts off. I just soldered a new DC power connector on, and it does the same stuff. Also it will no boot off the battery. as far as ive read, its common on HPs but.
Anyone know of someone or somewhere that has advice on the repair. i can do the work, just need to find out what exactly is wrong. Ive taken this thing apart about 20 times in 3 days trying to figure out whats up, but i see no burn marks or cracks on any part of the mobo, also i reseated the proc and memory. Still i have to unplug and plug it back in many times, then it will power up for a few seconds then shut off.

Posted in the mobile area, but havent had an answer in days.
