What kind of monitor is that?Current setup.
It is a Samsung Odyssey G9 57" Ultrawide. It's mounted to the desk using a Secret Labs heavy duty monitor arm. What kind of monitor is that?
It's huge, I've never seen anything like it.That's terrible, it's more for a wall than a table, does this freesync work for you with the nvidia gpu? I know that the old freesync also works on the nvidia gpu but I don't know about this new one.It is a Samsung Odyssey G9 57" Ultrawide. I don't know why people automatically think a large display should automatically be mounted to a wall. It's fine on a desk with a monitor arm. It's quite immersive in games. It's not any different than using two 32" 4K displays or having an old school triple monitor setup. As for G-Sync, the monitor is G-Sync compatible. Sort of. There are issues with it if you aren't using an NVIDIA 50 series card. You can get flickering with G-Sync and it won't do 240Hz on older cards either. It's huge, I've never seen anything like it.That's terrible, it's more for a wall than a table, does this freesync work for you with the nvidia gpu? Totally agree. I have had a 48" CX, a 42" C2, and now a 45" LG curved monitor and have had them all on my desk.I don't know why people automatically think a large display should automatically be mounted to a wall.
Nice choice of case!I've been putting this PC together idly for the past six or so years. That's gross to think about hahaha. It started out having an EVGA 1080 Ti, however I ended up using that for my HTPC/VR rig in the living room, so I then acquired an EVGA 2080 Super at the beginning of the lock downs. It never got used so I tossed it in my HTPC. Then it had one of the last remaining EVGA 3090 Ti FTW cards from a local Micro Center when they went on fire sale, before being replaced by the Gigabyte 4070 Super AERO that's in there now.
It was going to be a full custom water loop system, however life changes and a move across the country and where I'm currently living won't really vibe with a twin radiator setup. So, I changed over to the Noctua DH15S tower cooler and had planned on using the EK Vardar EVO fans I was going to use for the rads anyway since they have descent airflow/pressure ratings, however they all have come down with a case of harsh grinding noises from the bearings during the initial stress test/Folding. Guess they had a bad batch when I bought them years ago, but since I'm only now putting this thing together never noticed. Trashed for their replacements, Noctua P12 Redux 1700's.
I thought it was rather funny that most of the companies used in this build are either in major turmoil currently, or are out of business/no longer selling these parts. Oops.

Contemplating running the 3090 Ti ftw3 with the water loop

Changing my mind after seeing how much heat that card dumped out, and then replacing it with a card that does WAY better then the 3090 ever would.

The Lian Li / RocketFish case still in use makes me feel good inside. Still got mine, and it was my Nas/Server before moving to a rack.Feeling kinda cluttered. Need to cleanup. But, here's my home office in its current state..
Now, it's ready for prime time!Desk is too cluttered/messy for a full workstation shot, so here's the PC. Aside from what's listed in my sig, there's an Antec C8 Curve Wood case, Arctic LF3 Pro III 360, 4TB Samsung 9100 Pro, 2x4TB WD SN850X, Seasonic Vertex PX-1200. Case fans are Phantek D30 140/120.
My precioussss...

Umm,,, Yes?Bruh do you have any rads?![]()
This is how my setup is, but it seems I had a wrong arrangement. I am going to readjust using yours as a reference. It's simple and beautiful.
I actually just changed my main rig setup. Switched the monitor to an ultra wide, put the soundbar back in the living room so put a spare speaker set on there. I still like the monitor on the side but it may be a bit much. This is how my setup is, but it seems I had a wrong arrangement. I am going to readjust using yours as a reference. I'm with ya there, but keyboard palm rests I'll make an exception for. There's something about a nicely polished plank of high quality walnut that just plain feels right. I don't really care for the plastic/synthetic ones.Whenever I see faux wood (or even real wood panels) on computer cases or keyboards now I can't help but think of all the wood grain shit we had in the 1970's and 1980's. I do not like it.
no windows, only a door and its the only one of my sites that have an "office" at, unless admin is using it....That room looks like it could make you stage dive out of the window some day.
Its probably for the best..no windows
True, it might actually be overkill for some. But I am so much in love with side monitor, especially because of the portrait alignment.I actually just changed my main rig setup.
