Podcast subscription without iTunes?

Hey all,

is there any program out there that will subscribe to podcasts and sync them to your iPod without utilizing iTunes? I'm currently using Anapod Explorer to sync my music, but it's woefully lacking in its podcast capabilities.
 
There are plenty of podcast subscriber software, but iTunes is probably the only one that can sync with the iPod.
 
Hrm, could you point me at some alternative subscription software then? I could just use Anapod to sync manually.

iTunes eats my music. I'll try to sync podcasts and it will freeze for a few minutes then all of my music is gone. Frickin annoying if you are about to go somewhere.

I've tried it on three different computers (all Windows - I have a feeling that's where the problem lies) with similar results.
