Here's the deal: The logo for one of my favorite bands is a buffalo skull, specifically this image: http://linux.toothandnail.com/solidstate/media/demonhunter/Desktops/dh_wall1_1024x768.jpg
And the centerpiece of my father's art collection is an actual buffalo's skull painted a metallic blue color like this: http://www.prsguitars.com/csc/color/img/lg_metallicblue.jpg
Could you take the first image and *subtly* tint --the skull only (but not the horns)-- with that metallic blue shade and make it look good and realistic?
Your prize: my props and your art displayed as my wallpaper for an indefinite period of time. Thank you!

well, i just messed around with it...came up with alot of different variations..

for those who want to know, simply take whatever you want, do a displacement filter on a pre-cutout of the skull itself, then play around with overlay, multiplicity, and color dodge, whatever

i dont know if this is what you were looking for, but maybe it could get you started on the path of what you really are looking for.
