Hey everyone, I've finally got some money and its time for an upgrade. Right now I have a 15" powerbook G4 and it serves me very well. However, most of what I do at school and work requires a PC. I don't really game much, especially since all I have is a mac now. Basically, what I am wondering, is should I get a PC or an Intel Mac and use bootcamp.

Some of the things I need to be able to do are program in DirectX and C# in visual studio, run and make CAD items, and thats about all I really REQUIRE. I really like OS X and would prefer to use that most of the time and just use bootcamp when its needed. Would I be able to do what I mentioned above if I wait for the new release of OS X and buy an Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook?

you can even do it now, even if bootcamp is still in beta, my macbook pro runs windows with no problems, except some ppl say the battery life sux when running windows comparing to mac os x which should improve in the future, otherwise it just behaves like a normal pc laptop.

Thats great, the reason I want to wait though is that my powerbook is fine for now, and the release of leopard is not very far away. So I figured I might as well wait for that.

One last question that I have is, the only 2 games I ever used to really play were CS:S and Tribes Vengeance. Will a macbook be able to play these games hooked up to a 19 inch LCD monitor?

If you want to play any games I would not touch the MacBook, I would jump to the MacBook Pro the mac Book video card suck a big one. Or since you said you could wait, wait for the next refresh (probably before Leopard anyway).

A MacBook won't run games very well, so go for a MacBook Pro if you can afford it. I'm actually returning to the wonderful world of Macintosh. It's been 11 years since I last owned a Mac. I need a new lappy, so I'm getting a black MacBook as soon as I can find a good price.
