I got another laptop which was loaded with 98SE, but was loaded with crap, and was beyond repair. I made a ghost image of my old laptop (had Win2k) and loaded the image on the new laptop. Now I'm getting "Operating system not found" when I boot it up. I putin my Win2k cd and went into the recovery console and did "FIXMBR" which didn't work, so I tried "Format /MBR" which also did not work. They both said they wrote the MBR successfully, but when I boot up I still get the same message.
What am I doing wrong? I could just do a fresh install of 2000, then put my image over that, but thats time consuming. I figured there has got to be an easier way......
Oh yes, the new laptop had a signle patition, which I fdisked into 2 partions, then formatted with NTFS.
