Odd networking issue

I recently got to start supporting a couple of Macs. Being primarily a windows guy with some linux experience, it has been like starting over.
The issue I am having is a problem with networking. On a G4 mac, running os 10.2.8, things work fine for a while, then it starts having issues. Entourage's IMAP connection to our Microsoft Exchange server starts having issues, Internet Explorer and Safari have trouble opening certain web pages, Microsoft.com being one of them. A reboot fixes the issue for a while, but it pops up again.
I am at a loss as how to even troubleshoot this. If anyone has seen anything similar, or has troubleshooting ideas, it would be great appreciated.
Also, Office X version is 10.1.4, and IE is 5.2.3

First thing I would make sure to do is run Software Update, in System Prefs.

If that doesnt fix the problem, try a fresh install on one of them, and see if that fixes the problem. If that doesnt work, call Apple, you bought the Protection Care Program right?? ;)

Found the issue. It was related to our firewall. It was dropping packets because of a messed up date stamp. I am not sure if the Mac's or the firewall are not RFC compliant, but removing that rule from our firewall fixed the issue.
