Nvidia GPU Class action settlement

How can they claim the Dell Vostro 1500/Dell Inspiron 1520 didn't suffer these problems???

Simple, they want to limit their responsibility, even though my 9700t CTO has the same fail...

Nvidia does not want to have to pay too much.

My old Inspiron 9400 was already fixed, and my MacBook pro isn't having any problems right now. Guess I don't get shit.

my vostro 1400 systemboard was replaced under warranty for a different issue...the replacement board had a different revision of 8400 chip and it is still going strong after 3+ years

I've had like 3 of these but scrapped them all long before any lawsuit was mentioned :(.

So if you have a HP notebook no matter which model, they are going to ship a Compaq Presario CQ50. My Daughter has a HP DV 9000 with a 17" screen. How the hell is this fair? It has been repared under warrenty twice and I'm expecting it to die any moment, or right after the claim period ends.

FYI. I just submitted my claim for a Dell XPS M1330 that died a few months ago due to this issue. The settlement offer is different depending on manufacturer.

HP/Compaqs - get a replacement laptop.

Apple and Dell - get repair/replaced GPU.

Also, those of you that have paid to get this issue repaired in the past can file a reimbursement claim.

I just filed a claim for my M1210. Just waiting for an approval now. :)

im not exactly happy about what they are replacing with but I'll see what features are included. Im not going to be picky though, I bought a dv9000 back in september 06 and it gave a few good years before it crapped out, ive had other laptops crap out and no recourse. Either way its going to be faster with newer components and a new warranty. My biggest concern is that battery life in those things sucks balls and you cant upgrade the RAM really but it was never very good in this either.

I got a letter in the mail today, my application has been approved and they'll be sending me the shipping box within the next 2 weeks.

Just got the replacement laptop from fedex today, its actually built a little better than I thought it would be and while it isnt a performance beast i like the feel of it a lot mroe and it seems to be running 7 pretty quickly.

Aw crap. It's worse that I read this and could have had my laptop replaced, but of course we are past that time period now... damn.

My Vostro 1400 with 8400M GS has actually been fine so I didn't qualify for the settlement (booo!). But in the recent weeks, every once in a while, Windows Aero will glitch and revert back to the basic windows Theme, and then a second or two later, Aero comes back. Is this a sign of the nVidia problem? If it is, now that the claim period is over, do I have any other options for a replacement?

I'm asking because I was just about to upgrade the CPU in my Vostro to give it a little bit of new life, but before I do that and potentially void the warranty, I wanted to clear a couple things up related to the nVidia graphics.

My Dell 1420 with 8400MGS just freakin died a week ago! God damn it! It is definitely this issue too.

Still waiting for HP to replace mine. It's been almost 4 months since I shipped it off. How long did you guys wait for your replacement HP?

i got a dell e1705 off ebay, had a bad go 7800, and i ordered go 7900gs off ebay for like $150 brand new, but i am selling the dell kinda to big for me
