I've been hearing a lot about the NV Silencers and decided to see which one I should get for my card.

I have a BFGTech 6200OC 256mb AGP card.

Arctic Cooling lists 2 coolers that might be compatible with my card, the:
NV Silencer 1 rev.2 and the NV Silencer 6 rev.2

I've tried contacting them via their website, but after I input the info, a message appears: "Please consult all listed information before contacting us". And I get kicked back to the form fill out page.

And it doesn't go any further, it just loops back. Grrr!!!

Would any of you know which NV Silencer cooler is compatible with my card?

Or maybe I should just keep looking???

People in general are not too happy with these video coolers. As a matter of fact, the newest one, Silencer Rev. 3 is so good that it is being recalled. This after months of "development", "delays" and very minor changes. How about Zalman 7700cu cooler (or something like that). It is heavy but most people love it.
 
Really??? Because I've been hearing a lot to the contrary. Oh well, I guess it al depends on who ya ask. Even todays Hard issue has a link to a sight with a favorable revue of their newest product for the 7800.

But before this card, I had an FX5700 and was looking at the Thermaltake CL-G0003.

I dunno... maybe I'm just picky. I want a cooler that cools the gpu as well as the vram.

I gues I'll just keep looking.
 
Also, the Zalman 7700 is for a cpu, not a gpu. I think ya might mean the 700 series???
 
Ya the 700 series are for Video Cards. The Zalman works better then the Artic Cooler who cares if it blows the warm/hot air out the back. If you got good/great cooling the Zalman is the best VGA out there in the market. The Zalman can work on any video card "which is great".
 
Yep...that is the one...I don't use aircooling so the numbers confuse me sometimes....Besides, both have the 7s in it....

Even though Zalman makes a good cooler, venting heat out of a system the way Arctic-cooler does, is a plus. I even have a blowhole on my tower.

Also, I want the setup to cool the vram as well. No sense in being able to cool the gpu if the memory is gonna take beating from the heat. Heck, even my chipset has a sink on it.

A few years ago, before I got my XP3200 cpu, I looked at Zalman cpu coolers and the majority of them were far to heavy for cpu use as they exceeded the socket weight stress specs.

And my other gripe about coolers is the horizontal or semieffectual heatpipes and the rediculous designs they use the heatpipes in. Heatpipes are suppose to work vertically, like a mini enclosed weather system. Evaporate/boil - up, cool/condense - down, repeat. Because when things heat up, they rise, and when they cool, they lower. It's basic nature and physics. Heatpipes work with one end hot and the other end cool, one end up, the other down. Simple.

But I'm getting away from my query.

Maybe I can use a small Zalman for the vid card and put sinks and small fans on the vram, and add more blowholes to the tower.

Either way I have a lifetime warranty from BFG for the card.
