I have never owned a Laptops and don't really know what to look for in one. I need one for school it has to have 2 gb memory, Vista, i want a 250gb HD and it must be able to connect to the internet at school.

In addition to school i want to install photoshop and do some photo editing when i travel so i good quality screen is important. what are the differnece in all the different screen types. i want it to play music also. the faster the better i am looking to spend less then $1000.00 on the laptop with a screen size of 15.4. what is a good brand that will give me a lot bang for my buck.
 
Dell makes good laptops. You should be able to config one up. Really need 15.4", look at the Vostro 1500 or Latitude D830.
