OK, so right now there are 3 desktop computers in my house and i ran the wires all through, but now i'm getting a laptop, so I want to switch to a wireless router. Which should i get, and what do i need to make the desktops wireless as well? Is it just as reliable as wired networks?

how does that compare to the Belkin Pre-N router..it got better reviews at CNET

Well, you kinda answered your own question didn't you?

LOL! I say get which ever one fits your budget and needs, they are both good routers.

Pretty much identicle....it's the same chipset as the Linksys SRX model. Airgo True Mimo chipset. I've setup quite a few networks with both. I find that the firmware features of the Belkin are a tad more rich in features....hopefully Linksys will add features to theirs as time goes by. But performance wise, both rock....both perform the same in quite a few MIMO reviews I've seen. Pre-N/MIMO routers based on the Airgo True Mimo chipset come out on top of pretty much all MIMO reviews that I've seen.

Also if on a budget, the Linksys GX2 baby MIMO router does very well.

ok thanks..and what about the wireless cards or any additions...do I need anything else? I know the laptop comes with one, but if i go wireless for the desktops, which are good?

it's funny how each one doubles the previous in price...does that mean the linksys is the best?

If you have the other computers wired in your house now, just leave them wired. Unless you're tired of seeing CAT5. Also, a question you need to ask yourself is, how much/often do you transfer large files from one machine to another? If the answer is not much/often, then just go for a wireless G router. I doubt your internet connection can max out a 54Mbps wireless link.
