1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Programming, VM's, Gaming, Photoshop, Web Browsing, Watching Movies + Ripping Blu Rays / DVD's
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
£1500 ex VAT
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
England
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case, Mobo, CPU, RAM, Graphics Card, HDD (I'm thinking 1 SSD for boot, and 1 1tb drive for data), PSU, Blu Ray Drive, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes, I would like to do basic overclocking. Haven't looked into it in years, so a good base system for overclocking would be nice.
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
I'm up for suggestions on the monitor also. Looking for at least 23" HD.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Monitor in early Feb, everything else in March.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? etc.
Something that would be too out of date in a years time.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, Windows 7 Professional 64bit
I really like the look of the Corsair 650D for the case, and I see its quite popular on here.
After building a PC years ago, then switching purely to a Macbook Pro, I've given in to the desire to build again!
I'm very out of touch with all things PC these days which is depressing!
