Buddy of mine wants to know if he should go 754 or 939 and what components to choose. He doesn't need a monitor and wants to spend 1,000 - 1,500. He will be upgrading cpu, motherboard, ram, HDD, cdrom/dvd, videocard(preferrably PCI-e not SLI yet). Thanks guys and gals. I am thinking go all the way up to the 1,500 spending limit if you can, thanks.

If he's going to spend over $1000, go 939. I'd only go 754 if you're budget was in the $600-700 range.
