Network with XP and Vista

Hi there [H]! I was thinking about upgrading one of the pc's on my home network to Vista Enterprise. The other computers on the network would remain using XP. Does anyone see any problems with this? Would I still be able to share files and printers on my network running the two different OS's on different computers on my network?

bought yerself a VLK for your home network? LOL. other than potential licensing violations, you should be OK. just make sure you update your xp boxen.

btw, does anyone know if the enterprise ed of vista has an activation server as a standard thing, or is that only for say really large companies? just curious how that actually worked; it would seem silly for a small business purchasing a VLK to have to have an activation server on their intranet.
 
Anyone who's using volume license edition of Vista can run the volume license server... But your don't have to. The boxes can re-register direct with Microsoft at their 180 registration interval... Therefore, the only reason you'd "have" to run a volume license server is for machines that don't have access to the Internet.

As for Vista Enterprise, I don't have access to it through our Select agreement... But I do have Vista Pro Ultimate. No problems working with it on my home network with the XP machines....
