I have VPN connected thru a Linksys RV082 router using the Linksys QuickVPN utility on the remote and I am trying to map to a drive on a W2K3 Standard server. From the remote, I can ping the server, the router, and all other PCs on the local network. When I try to map using the server's static IP as in \\192.168.1.xxx\sharename I get network path cannot be found. I also tried to map to a shred folder on a local PC and I get the same error message. The workgroups are all set to OFFICE and no firewalls are running anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
Maybe you have simple sharing enabled and the guest account disabled? Simple sharing uses the guest account.
