need some advice/help with case temps

So I have an Athlon XP 2800+, Asus A7N8XE-Deluxe MOBO. The cpu cooler is the tt silent boost and I have an intake and exhaust fan, each running and pushing/pulling air. My video card is a PNY 6800 with the stock cooler. Since upgrading to this mobo and cpu I have had major problems. It seems that all of them have been resolved. However at idle after normal use my cpu temp (according to pc probe) is 55-56c. When in game I am lookin at above 60. Am I doing something wrong here? Is my silent boost no longer good enough for cpu? I upgraded from a 2200 if anyone wants to know.

I am looking at spending some money getting things cooler in the case so I can game till my hearts content without concern. I am looking at upgrading the cpu cooler based on recommendations I get from these boards. I am also looking at upgrading the gpu cooler from the stock nvidia one to something better, also looking for recommendations. Now the mobo has a drawback at least as far as I am concerned in that the cpu socket is very close to the uppper edge of the pcb ... which puts it right next to the psu and the gap is pretty small. The silent boost is almost touching the fan of the antec psu. So I figure I am looking at one of those tower type cpu coolers.

Anyhow any recommendations would be great ... i don't want to stress over burning the cpu and having the funky reboots/errors.

Did you use thermal paste? If not, go get some and use it!

A mobile chip will generate a lot less heat, and probably overclock at least as fast as that 2800. A 2400 mobile is $79 on newegg today.
