Need opinion on Upgrading

Hey guys,
I am in a pickle. I am running an athlon 64 x2 6000+, and I am considering upgrading. But I am unsure as to what I should do. I was thinking to upgrade to the Q6600, or should I wait for the 45nm quad cpu's, or should I wait for the phenoms to catch up?
I am mostly gaming, crysis runs on my system just fine with high/very high. But I was wondering if you guys think supreme commander will increase in speed.

I would love some suggestions.

if crysis is running high/very high already, why upgrade?
 
The whole reason is for supreme commander mostly. That game needs quite a high end CPU and a good graphics card.

I was looking around though, and it looks like I will wait for the Penyrn to be released.
