need help with external enclosure

I just got a Moving Star 3.5 enclosure after having a AcomData stop showing up in windows Xp. I think i might have done something wrong with that one and now this one. I had another device (that always pops up new, 360 controler) and it confused Xp, so the instilation didnt go right for the USB to IDE

So i restart with the drive turned off. When i turn the new Moving star on it pops up under Device Manager as USB Mass storage. But once the hdd kicks in the thing just shuts up. And disconnects. I'm really trying to figure out what it could be.

A driver from the Acomdata enclosure that went nuts on me or what i dont know. If anyone can help me find the drivers for either one so i can delete them and then see if windows will auto install the right stuff.
