Need help mounting network drives

Hello all,

I'l still learning Debian (CLI) and i am trying to figure to figure out network drives. I currently have a Synology has that I created a user and folder that I want my debian server to mount. I want to have my Debian box mount using SMB to my was nas. I would also need to have this drive mount during boot. If anyone has a good step by step link to share it would really help me out.
 
I keep running into the following error. Has anyone seen this before?
mount error: cifs filesystem not supported by the system
cifs-utils is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
